Tour Itinerary

5 days / 4 nights 

Day One – Welcome to Coastal Maine!

Today we embark on our vacation to ‘downeast Maine’ and the Maine Lobster Festival!  This beautiful state has 3,478 miles of spectacular coastline and harvests the majority of lobster in the United States! This afternoon, arrive to Portland Maine and begin our Lobstering Adventure! Here, receive a warm greeting by our professional Tour Guide and take some time to relax and freshen up before enjoying a savory seafood dinner at one of area’s popular restaurants!

Day Two – Portland, Mount Battie & Schooner Cruise

After breakfast, we’ll depart for a visit the Portland Head Light which guards the entrance to Casco Bay.  Commissioned by George Washington, it is one of the oldest continuously operating lights in the country.  Enjoy a guided tour of Portland, including the Old Port Exchange. This thriving waterfront was the heart of Portland’s busy 19th century commercial ventures and continues to be the center of activity today. Continue downeast to mid-coast Maine arriving to the beautiful seaside village of Camden. We’ll travel to the top of Mount Battie for magnificent views of Camden Harbor and beyond!  This afternoon, set sail aboard the historic Appledore Schooner for a picturesque cruise around Penobscot Bay!  Later, check into our hotel for a relaxing two night stay and enjoy a delicious seafood dinner at one of the area’s great restaurants.

Day Three – Annual Maine Lobster Festival!

After breakfast, we’ll head off to Rockland and enjoy a fun-filled day at the Annual Maine Lobster Festival!  This  festival is filled with the world’s greatest lobster cooker, 20,000 pounds of lobster, top notch entertainment, fine art, talented crafts people and vendors, cooking contests, marine tent and so much more! Tickets for a delicious lobster meal will also be provided!  Enjoy the evening on our own. Choose to stay at the Festival to enjoy the live entertainment or in Camden village to explore and dine on our own.

Day Four – Presidents, Lobsters and Lighthouses!

Following breakfast, we’ll enjoy the day touring some of southern Maine’s coastal villages. It’s off to the popular summer resort of Kennebunkport which draws artists, writers and Presidents alike! Enjoy a scenic drive along the ocean to Walker’s Point passing the well-known summer home of President George H.W. Bush. Continue on to Ogunquit, named by the Abenaki Indians meaning, “beautiful place by the sea” and board the Finest Kind for a scenic Lobster Cruise to learn all about these tasty crustaceans while enjoying the coastal beauty. This afternoon, check into our hotel for relaxing night’s stay. Tonight, enjoy a planned dinner offering delicious seafood selections.

Day Five – York Village, Goldenrod, Cape Neddick Light & Depart for home

Enjoy a leisurely morning. Have breakfast, take a walk to the water, or explore the village before we depart for York ME. Enjoy a stop in York’s Short Sands to visit The Goldenrod. The staff will give a talk and demonstrate this age old taffy making process to see how they make their famous “Goldenrod Kisses”!  Continue on for a picture stop to one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country – the Cape Neddick Light, more popularly known as “the Nubble”.  Later, we’ll depart for home taking with us wonderful memories of our vacation to Maine and the Maine Lobster festival!
