Day One Welcome to Amish Country
This morning, embark on a journey to Pennsylvania’s Amish Country! Lancaster County, home to America’s oldest Amish settlement, offers a glimpse into a world where time seems to stand still. Thousands of Amish live by centuries-old “Plain” traditions, free of modern conveniences. As we arrive in PA Dutch Country, you’ll feel transported to a simpler way of life, where horse-drawn buggies navigate the rolling hills, and windmills harness nature’s power. After arriving, we’ll check into the charming DoubleTree Resort in Lancaster, PA. Our local tour guide will greet us, offering insights into the region before we settle in. Later, we’ll savor a delicious Amish smorgasbord or family-style dinner—a true taste of Pennsylvania Dutch hospitality.

Day Two Kitchen Kettle Village, Amish Buggy Ride, Amish Experience & Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre
After a hearty breakfast, set off with our local Step On Guide for a scenic tour of the picturesque farmlands. Rolling hills, quilted fields, and peaceful homesteads create a landscape like no other. Our first stop is Kitchen Kettle Village, where you’ll enjoy free time for lunch and exploration. Discover over 40 unique shops offering everything from locally made quilts and hand-poured candles to jams, relishes, and farm-fresh cheeses. Next, we’ll experience the iconic Amish Buggy Ride through the heart of Amish country. Our friendly Amish drivers will share stories and provide a deeper understanding of their lifestyle. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Amish Experience for “Jacob’s Choice,” a heartwarming production that gives us a glimpse into Amish life today, as seen through the eyes of the Fisher family. After the show, explore the Fisher Family Homestead and the One-Room Schoolhouse, where you’ll learn about traditional Amish education. We cap the day with dinner and a lively performance at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre this evening.

After breakfast, we’ll meet our local Step ON Guide for another day of immersive Amish experiences. We’ll take a guided tour of the 1840 Amish Farmhouse, explore the Village Store, and visit the Blacksmith Shop and One-Room Schoolhouse, where an Amish teacher will share insights into their education system. Afterward, we’ll visit a traditional Amish Quilt Shop, where you can admire (and perhaps purchase) one-of-a-kind handmade quilts. The afternoon’s highlight is an unforgettable performance at the renowned Sight & Sound Theatre. This production brings Bible stories to life with breathtaking sets, music, and performances.
