Day One - Welcome to Cape Cod
Our journey begins as we depart our area today and arrive to the beautiful shores of Cape Cod. Known for its magnificent coastline, charming villages and historic lighthouses, it’s a place which captivates the hearts of all who visit! Arrive to our hotel where we’ll be greeted by our Tour Director along with a refreshing welcome reception. Take some time to relax and freshen up before dinner.

Day Two - Cape Cod Central Railroad & Harbor cruise
Depart with your guide for a day of touring the Cape. Enjoy a tour of Hyannis with a picture stop to the JFK Memorial and Korean War Memorial overlooking beautiful Veterans Beach. Then, step aboard the Cape Cod Railroad to recapture the romance of a by-gone era. Enjoy a scenic train ride to Sandwich viewing cranberry bogs, lush marshes, and natural woodlands while enjoying a savory luncheon*. Continue touring along picturesque Route 6A; historically known as the Old Kings Highway viewing many old sea captains’ homes and quaint villages. Visit the JF Kennedy Memorial and Korean War Memorial overlooking Veterans Beach before enjoying a one-hour Harbor Cruise out of Hyannis Harbor. Tonight enjoy a traditional lobster dinner.

Day Three - New Hampshire touring & Café Lafayette Dinner Train
Depart today for New Hampshire touring through the Lakes Region past Squam Lake where “On Golden Pond” was filmed. Next we’ll visit the spectacular Castle in the Clouds perched high in the Ossippee Mountains overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. This afternoon, check into our White Mountain area hotel for the next two evenings. Enjoy a wonderful experience this evening aboard the Café Lafayette Dinner Train in the heart of the White Mountain Region of New Hampshire.

Day Four - Notch Train Ride & Cog Railway Museum
This morning journey to the Conway Scenic Railway Station to board the ‘Notch Train’ for a 2 ½ hour ride enjoying some of the finest natural scenery in the East . Pass through spectacular Crawford Notch with sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams, panoramic mountain vistas. Cross the famed Frankenstein Trestle and Willey Brook Bridge - en route to Crawford Depot. Enjoy a picture stop of the magnificent Mount Washington Hotel on our way to the Cog Railway Visitor Center. This was the world's first mountain-climbing cog railway and today it's the only one still powered entirely by steam. Take some time in the museum and possibly watch the cog travel to the top of Mount Washington. Return to our hotel this evening.

Day Five - Vermont Maple Sugar Farm & Rock of Ages Granite Quarry
This morning depart for Vermont. Enjoy the scenic splendor of this Green Mountain state. We’ll visit a traditional Maple Sugar house for a demonstration and syrup tasting along with an opportunity to browse through the gift shop. Later we’ll visit the Rock of Ages Granite Quarry. A friendly Quarry guide will step aboard and tour us around the 50-acre, 600 foot deep quarry! Enjoy a stop at the Craftsmen center to view talented sculptors transform granite into magnificent works of art. This afternoon, we’ll check into our central Vermont hotel. Take some time to relax and freshen up before dinner.

Day Six - Essex Steam Train & River Boat Cruise
Depart for Essex Connecticut this morning. Board the Essex Steam Train for a scenic ride along the Connecticut River. Enjoy the nostalgia of the lovingly restored cars while we’re swept away by the hiss of steam, the blast of the whistle, and the clickety-clack of the tracks. From the exciting "All Aboard" to the engineer checking the locomotive before the run, you will experience an authentic journey back to the days of steam. The fun’s not over! Following the train ride, enjoy a scenic cruise aboard an authentic Riverboat – the ‘Becky Thatcher’. The river boat ride is a quieter, more reflective experience. You will see more of the natural wonders that make the Connecticut River special - coves and inlets, islets and deep water, each home to fish, fowl, and river vegetation. Bald Eagles are seen during some seasons. You can also get a glimpse of man-made wonders - bridges, ferries, and river-front homes. Highlights include the historic Goodspeed Opera House and Gillette Castle and hear about the history, natural wonders, and legends that abound in these waters. This afternoon, arrive to our area hotel for the evening.

Day Seven - Depart for home
This morning we’ll depart for home taking with us fond memories of our nostalgic journey aboard the rails of New England.
