Day Two - Butterfly Conservatory, Yankee Candle, & Old Deerfield village

This morning check out and depart for the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory and Gardens, an 8,000 square foot facility that is home to nearly 4,000 free-flying butterflies from around the world. At the center of the glass sanctuary is a heart-shaped pond teaming with Japanese Koi and a picturesque waterfall, the entire room filled with warm music and the sounds of nature. Following your walk through the Conservatory, you will be whisked off to the Yankee Candle Company to shop the aisles of this fragrant store and treat yourself to lunch. This afternoon, participate in a guided tour of Old Deerfield Village, a family friendly museum that showcases the architecture, artifacts and lifestyles of an early New England township. This afternoon, check into our Sturbridge Hotel and be greeted by a festive red carpet welcome reception.

Day Three - Old Sturbridge Village & Brookfield Orchards

Depart with our guide for a fun day in the Sturbridge area. Our travels bring us to quaint Old Sturbridge Village, the largest outdoor historic museum in the entire Northeast. It is here that wayfarers come face-to-face with a rural New England town of the 1830’s, complete with over 40 original buildings that have been carefully researched, restored and implanted from various sites throughout the upper coast. Delve into the past by taking a gander at the authentically costumed staff carrying out all of the typical daily activities of a 19th century community, such as farm labor, blacksmithing and delicious period cooking. This afternoon, visit Brookfield Orchard, a sprawling apple farm of central Massachusetts that is owned and operated by the third generation of the famous Lincoln family. Take some time to stroll through the Orchard, pluck fresh apples, visit the bakery and visit their gift shops filled with traditional Yankee treats.  Tonight, enjoy a traditional New England dinner at the historic Salem Cross Inn.
