Tour Itinerary

Day One - Welcome to Boston, MA.

Arrive to the historic city fondly known as “Bean Town”! Arrive to our Boston area hotel where we’ll check in for the night and enjoy a refreshing welcome reception along with a warm greeting by our tour director. Take some time to relax and freshen up before dinner.

Day Two - Historic Boston, Norman Rockwell & The Berkshires

This morning depart for a guided tour of this Historic and cultural city. Our journey will take us along the Freedom Trail viewing such sites as the Old South Meeting House, Kings Chapel and Burying Ground, Park Street Church, the Old State House See and beautiful Boston Common - the oldest public garden in America. Enjoy a picture stop at ‘Old Ironsides’ - the USS Constitution. Enjoy time at Faneuil Hall for lunch on own and time to browse through the shops. This afternoon, depart Boston for the Berkshire Hills. Enjoy the scenery as we travel through the Pioneer Valley and into the Berkshires! Visit to the famous Norman Rockwell Museum located in the beautiful town of Stockbridge before arriving to our hotel for check in. Enjoy a savory dinner tonight.

Day Three - Apple Barn, Manchester Village & Hildene

This morning journey north into the green mountain state of Vermont. In Bennington, visit The Apple Barn, featured on The Food Network’s $40 a Day, The Travel Channel, Good Morning America and Ron Hazelton’s ‘House calls’. Our ‘Taste of Vermont’ experience includes a narrated tour to the top of their 300-acre orchard for panoramic views of the spectacular scenery of southern Vermont followed by a slice of home made apple pie ala mode and choice of beverage. Continue on to the beautiful village of Manchester for free time to shop, explore and enjoy lunch on our own. This afternoon, visit Robert Todd Lincoln’s “Hildene”, home of Abraham Lincoln’s descendants until 1975. Tour the restored 24-room Georgian Revival mansion, hear the 1908 Aeolian Organ and explore the magnificent gardens. This afternoon, check into our Inn, nestled in the mountains of Vermont for a two-night stay.

Day Four - Vermont’s local flavors

Depart for a day of touring throughout Vermont while enjoying the splendid foliage and countryside. Begin the day with a visit to the Rock of Ages Granite Quarry. A friendly Quarry guide will step aboard and tour us around the 50-acre, 600 foot deep quarry! Then it’s on to a traditional Maple Sugar house for a demonstration and syrup tasting along with an opportunity to browse through the gift shop. This afternoon, we’ll continue on to Waterbury for a visit to the Cold Hollow Cider Mill and enjoy some free time in the beautiful village of Stowe before returning to the Inn for a chance to relax and explore the grounds before enjoying dinner.                                                                                                      Meals - Breakfast,Dinner

Day Five - Cannon Aerial Tram Ride & Mount Washington Hotel 

Check out of our Inn and depart for the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We’ll visit Franconia State Forest and enjoy a scenic Aerial Tram ride up Cannon Mountain. At the top enjoy the spectacular views and foliage glorious colors. Continue on to Bretton Woods to the historic Mount Washington Hotel. A grand masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture, The Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire's White Mountains, was a two-year labor of love for 250 master craftsmen. Conceived by industrialist Joseph Stickney, this National Historic Landmark opened in 1902 and immediately became a favorite summer haunt for poets, presidents and princes. Enjoy a delicious luncheon in the grand dining room followed by a guided tour of this magnificent hotel. This afternoon we’ll check into our hotel for a two night stay.

Day Six - Lake Winnipesaukee Cruise & Castle in the Clouds

Enjoy the day touring through New Hampshire’s White Mountains and Lake Region. This morning, arrive to Weir’s Beach to board the M/S Mount Washington for a scenic cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee; the states largest and most beautiful lake. Following the cruise, enjoy free time in the charming village of Wolfeboro.  This afternoon,visit Castle in the Clouds, nestled high atop the Ossipee Mountain Range. Thomas Plant's spectacular Arts & Crafts mansion was built by over 1200 craftsmen at a cost of over $1 million in 1914 and this New Hampshire icon is wonderfully preserved to give a real sense of how country life was lived by the fabulously wealthy at the turn of the century. En route back to our hotel, enjoy views of Squam Lake where ‘On Golden Pond’ was filmed and travel along one of the country’s most scenic by-ways; The Kancamagus Highway.

Day Seven - Kennebunkport, Ogunquit & Lobster Cruise

This morning we’ll depart for ‘down east’ Maine and begin with a tour of the popular summer resort of Kennebunkport. Its quaint setting appeals to artists, writers and Presidents. Enjoy a scenic drive along the ocean to Walker’s Point passes the well-known summer home of past President George HW Bush. Continue on to the seaside village of Ogunquit - named by the Abenaki Indians meaning, “Beautiful place by the sea”. Board the ‘Finest Kind’ cruises for a first hand lobstering experience! Then it’s on to the villages of York with a visit to one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country - Cape Neddick Light, popularly known as “the Nubble”. Check into our accommodations and take some time to freshen up before partaking in a traditional down east Clambake and a chance to try Maine lobster!

Day Eight - Depart for home

This morning we’ll depart for home taking with us fond memories of our journey throughout New England.
